What's new in imago 1.0 Beta 3 (Build 90909)
Better and more accurate mosaicking
imago's new registration/mosaicking tool is customized for microscopic images. Do you still see the edge between the pair of mosaicked images after using your current mosaicking software? imago not only assembles multiple images automatically but also blends abutting edges while minimizing alteration of the original image. Your mosaic looks photo realistic and is perfectly suitable for further quantitative analysis. See imago's registration examples.
Pseudo color visualization
Collecting an arbitrary number of channels (e.g. 2 or 4 channels) from a tissue has become a common task. Now you can assign a color to each channel using imago's pseudo-color lookup table. You can display all channels at the same time. If you have a double staining micrograph, imago will automatically display it with a combination of magenta and green, and the image is already ready to submit to the publication.
Export the analysis result to Numbers or Excel
With a single click
, you can save the analysis result as a comma-separated values format (.CSV) so you can do further analysis with Numbers or Microsoft Excel.
Enjoy new skin
Now imago has its own theme. Whether you use Windows XP or Vista, imago provides you a consistent appearance regardless of your Windows' theme color.
Existing top features
Manage all your microscopic images in one place
Mayachitra imago is a simple yet powerful tool designed for managing microscopic images. imago can handle multiple image types and the associated metadata. Images from different microscopes including z-stacks and time-series can be stored, annotated, and analyzed in one, easy to use interface.
Powerful unified search
Find the image that you want to work with in one place by image name, annotation, your own tags, publication, metadata, image content, analysis result, or any combination of the above. If you don't remember image name, it is not a problem. Mayachitra imago can find the image by any other clues you remember. You can spend more time analyzing and learning from images.
Rich graphical annotation
With imago, you can measure length, perimeter, area, and count cells from an image. Of course, imago will save all measurements.
Creating a figure for publication is easy with imago. Add a scale bar, text box, and arrowheads. Choose color, font, and position of annotation and export the figure for the publication.
Organize images by your own tag
It is easy to create a large set of microscopic images. Mayachitra imago gives you a more flexible way to organize them according to experiment type, species, and antibody used. You can create your own set of tags that you are interested in.
Automatic nuclei detector
Cell counting is a common task in cell biology research. Mayachitra imago's automatic nuclei detector is an image based powerful cell counter. It automatically identifies nuclei's centeroid locations from the selected image and provides you the total number of cells and their location information.
imago's powerful search can help you to find images by the cell counting results. For example, you can find all images from your album with a cell density larger than 1000 cells/mm2. Learn more about nuclei detector
Interactive cell analysis tool
Mayachitra imago provides you with an interactive cell segmentation method. You can adjust the parameters to segment cells. Mayachitra imago computes the properties of individual cells such as area, perimeter, and average intensity.
