Create a mask using annotation tools

Selecting a region of interest (ROI) within an image is one of most common tasks for measurement. You often want to measure the average intensity within one layer of tissue, or to count cells within one area. imago's annotation tools (Ellipse, Rectangle, or Polygon) can help you to define subregions of images.

To create a mask from an annotation,

1. Draw a subregion with Ellipse, Rectangle, or Polygon tool using imago's annotation tool. How to use annotation tools

2. Select the drawing you would like to create a mask from. The boundary of a drawing will be highlighted in red.
